Describe your style/blog.

Current, clean, crisp and comfortable for relaxed, seaside living.

Favorite furniture/accessories?

We love a crisp, white slip-covered sofa or sectional with classic blue and white pillows, giving the space a modern, yet timeless feel.

Insider tip for someone redesigning their home?

Make sure your design ideas reflect the architecture of your home and its surroundings, bringing the outside style inside your home. Your home design should suit your personality and lifestyle.

Trends for 2016 that you love?

A big trend for 2016 is using outdoor fabrics inside the home. We love this idea and use it often. It's great for families with children, grandchildren or pets. They have made great advancements in the manufacturing of outdoor fabrics, and most have the look and feel of interior fabrics. They are soft, textured, extremely durable and stain resistant. Contemporary furniture continues to be trending, including the use of Lucite. Look for the “modern meets organic” trend to continue. High gloss lacquer finishes, Lucite and glass combined with natural organic elements, such as driftwood.

Trends that are out?

Massive entertainment centers are definitely out, being replaced with sleek, low consoles.

Places you look for inspiration?

We look everywhere for inspiration, especially the outside environment. We're fortunate to live by the ocean, and the colors of the sea and sand are inspirational in our designs. Design magazines, blogs and trade shows keep us up to date on current trends and also inspire us.

Pieces worth the investment?

We believe you should invest in your sofa. It should be comfortable and well constructed to last for years. It is probably the most used piece of furniture in the home.

Colors you're gravitating toward?

White continues to be the hottest color this year. The 2016 Color of the Year is Benjamin Moore's “Simply White.” White is the most versatile color in design. It's fresh, clean and modern. If you've been in our store, on our website or blog, you will notice that along with white, we gravitate toward the colors of the sea. Living on the coast of Florida, all colors of blues, whites, grays and natural tones are what we are known for. Although we do use other colors in design, many of our customers are also looking for a modern, yet relaxed coastal style. These colors help meld the outside and inside environments.
